About the Artist

Elana is a native of New York State, growing up in a small town on Lake Erie.  She received a BFA in studio art from Syracuse University and an MFA in studio art and art education from the College of New Rochelle.  In 1983 she moved to Jerusalem, Israel where she lived for the next 21 years, painting and exhibiting her work.  She was a drawing and painting instructor at the prestigious Charles Smith High School for the Arts.  Upon returning to the United States, she continued to teach and to paint.  

Elana now resides in Cambridge New York and paints landscapes of this beautiful countryside. She is the author of Mark on Paper and several art instructional books.
